Future HHR Production

I own a 2009 HHR and I love it. It is the perfect car for me and I feel so strongly about the HHR that I intend to replace it with another in the future. But, I'm curious about the production life cycle.

Does anyone know or speculate how long the production will continue for this model?

I remember the Astro Van was produced for something like 20 years. I'm in the baby boomer age range and my reading indicates the HHR is popular with the 50+ crowd.

Welcome and Greetings! Unless things change, production is set to end for good in May 2011. I picked up a 2011 LT as a keeper along with my 2007 LS, sad to see 'em go but the platform is at the end of its cycle. Now is a good time to either order a unit or check the dealer stock if you're in the market. I do expect some hefty rebates coming after the first of the year to move the stock.

They are done this year and it will not change.

They already have built out the trannys that are no longer made and the Delta I platform also is done.

GM will have new models coming out very soon but no HHR is planned.

Sale have been good but they are now down and the Retro theme has kind of stalled for most companies.

The biggest issue is that the platform died and that kills the vehicle alone. Most of the new trannys and other bits would not fit the present platform with out changes that would require a lot of work and restesting for goverment standards.

sad news for me and the other happy customers.

Now my next thought is...I better take care of this one because repairs could be costly in the future. Parts will be at a premium.

Thank you for the warm welcome, too :)

they built a lot of HHR's so i dont see a repair or parts problem unless its for the SS and even then most parts are interchangeable.
