If it is the fuel pump, and if you can pump out the fuel into gasoline containers, dropping the fuel tank isn’t that hard, you will need a floor jack, 4 jack stands to support the car and some wrenches a 15 mm socket a 6 inch extension and a ratchet, I prefer 1/2 inch drive and pliers , you must remove the exhaust hangers to scoot the exhaust system to the drivers side and the from the passenger side drop the tank. It’s much easier if it’s empty, I use an 18 inch square piece of 3/4 inch plywood on my floor jack to put under the tank to support it to lower it down to the ground.
I use my 8 inch slip lock pliers to remove the retainer ring, and here’s a tip , order a well known good brand pump, don’t go el cheapo. I’ve changed out a few pumps for guys who installed off shore junk because EBay had it for a lot less money. At least the bolts come out easily when they’ve only been back in for a few months. Old Blue talked to another mechanic he said put some alcohol in it . so i did reluctantly . I said what do i have to loose it may crank and save me some money tommorrow or it does nothing but turn over like its doing now . Thoughts ?
update .I did a hail mary and tried to crank the car this morning it did not crank and battery now sounds weak so i took out a plug and saw moisture on it , i was really scared because all kinds of thoughts went through my mind. what if the plug breaks down there how will i get it out its very tight to turn so i grabbed a breaker instead of a small handle socket wrench and it cracket open safely . now back to this plug immedately after i took it out it was glossy very hard to see but i saw it . after like 5 to 10 minutes the tip of the plug turned ashy or dried up looking. i am going to get 4 new plugs now and see what happens from here . any thoughts would be great i will be right back thanks
You don't think that new plugs are going to help this no crank condition, do you?
If they dried that quickly, it's probably fuel, not water. I don't know how much water would have to be in the fuel, in order to water soak the plugs, I would guess a lot.
Looks like you need a new O-ring for the oil filler neck. There's a lot of oil leakage accumulated at the base of the valve cover, not just at the oil filler.
this car is a lemon was running great now does nothing i'm gonna tow it to shop if they cant fix it i'll sell it for parts . spark plugs were changed and were not good but mad no difference i hate this car
