Gas Mileage Display
I've had mine about a month. Used with 30,000 and feel it runs great. My display shows about 21-22mpg around town. I take a ride to Santa fe which is 40 miles of straight freeway and only get to 23.whatever on the display. Does this MPG display need to be reset like other items or simply leave it.

Resetting the MPG display really depends on what you are attempting to accomplish.
If you are looking for highway MPG readings, I would suggest filling the HHR somewhere very near the junction of I-40 and I-25 . And reset the MPG gauge at that time. When you get to Sante Fe, the gauge should report something very close to actual mileage.
If you are looking for overall MPG, either reset at every fill-up or every 2 or 3 fill-ups if the driving remains consistant for whatever that time period is.
But, if you have not reset the MPG gauge for some period of time, thus establishing your 22 MPG over several tanks of gas, and you drive up to Santa Fe, your gauge isn't going to show much improvement on 2 or 3 gallons of gas that is used for that trip.

So to get a more accurate reading, refill and reset?

Just as an FYI, I wouldn't count on the number you get to be 100% accurate. It is known to be off in other GM vehicles. If you want to get a more accurate figure, reset your trip meter when you fill up (full tank). When you fill up again (once again to a full tank), take the number of miles you traveled divided by the number of gallons you put in.
