Smile Gas tank capacity 2011

would like to confirm that our cdn.fuel tanks info is correct versus usa info.
my owners manual says 16.2 gal or 61.3 litres. as you may or may not know we use imperial measure where we have 4.5 litres to a gallon and you americans have 3.7 lires to a gal. the reason i am asking is i usually fill up at sam's club in port hron,mi and was for a while saving a heck of a lot of money by crossing over as i am fortunate to live in a border town. gas her on the cdn side is $1.32.9 a litre or $5.85 a gal versus $4.11 a gal us at sam's club.you think your gas prices are high, still cheap compared to us.glad i downsized to our 3 rd HHR.Looking forward to going on our monthly shopping trip to port hron,mi. i am convinced government &big oil want uropean gas prices. don.t be surpised to see $6.00 gas come the end of summer. i am getting on average 27 to 30 mi per gal so am so glad to have the HHR
ANY THOUGHTS?

By all means, keep coming to Michigan for gas. I live right on the state border of Wisconsin and Minnesota. It takes me 5 minutes to get to MN, and I travel there almost daily to go to the bank, the store, etc. The current price for gas in Superior, WI (where I live) is $3.99/gallon, but if I go to Duluth, MN (which is 5 minutes away), I can get it for 10-15 cents cheaper per gallon. Right now it is $3.86/gallon in Duluth, MN. This is because of different state taxes, gas taxes, etc. So it pays for me to fill up while I'm in Duluth, MN as opposed to Superior, WI. It may not be much of a difference, but over a while, it adds up. I'll take cheaper gas any day the way prices are right now. Can't believe it is $5.85/gallon in Canada. Although it probably won't be long before it is $5.85 here.

The tank is 16.2 US gallons or 72.9 Imperial litres if my math is holding up today. I have noted with some sadness how badly you are being hit with fuel prices in Canada, and we think its bad here. As of yesterday my friends in London are paying the equivalent of $13.21 US per gallon, it really surprises me that Europeans aren't in open revolt over fuel pricing.

Hello to our Canadian Friends. Congrats to GSP for successfully defending his UFC title last night. Sorry to hear you are paying so much for gas. We will probably get there soon too. My question is when you say you get an average of 27 to 30 mpg in your HHR, are you going by the DIC, or are you doing the math yourself? I am currently tracking my 2011 2.4 L by the DIC. I'm seeing 21.7 average mpg right now in the city. Each day, if I drive conservatively, it increases by one tenth of a mpg. If this keeps up, I will be even more happy with my HHR than I already am. I'm going to calculate my actual mileage with my next fill-up.

Thumbs up Actual Mileage

Well, I checked my 2011 2LT actual mileage today with a fill-up. I was surprised and happy to get 24.1 MPG. 335 miles on 13.9 gallons. All city stop and go miles. I drove conservatively each day. I'm very pleased with this result. I hope it gets better and better as the engine gets broke in.

Once it loosens up you can expect another 1.5 mpg in mixed city driving, at least that's how my 2.4 performed over the first 9,000 miles.
