German HHR

Take the HHR to Heidelberg and get a pic of it with the Castle in the background
Is there still an area in Frankfurt called Saxon Haus or something like that? I think the Hard Rock is located there. Just remember a whole bunch of bars and such in that area but that was maybe 1993-94?

@ goose: yes, i will do that. heidelberg is not so far away.
you mean Sachsenhausen. oh yes, it is still there. all the "apfelwein" (applewine) bars are there.
you was at service in germany? maybe in hanau?
@TKHHR: i think there are not more than 50 HHRs in germany at this time.
mine is one of the first with automatic transmission. they are available since january, but the first were delivered in march, i think.
there are no tuning parts available. so ebay.com is my friend :-)
i´ve had a PT cruiser the last seven years. was the same problem. it took nearly a year to get any accessories. i had to order everything in the US. now you´ll get everything for PTs, but nothing for HHRs...
my dealer told me, that GM germany thinks they will not sell more than 700 HHRs in germany in 2008.
btw. sorry for my bad english.

Welcome. You sure have big license plates in Germany. There must be a larger area on the rear lift gate also, than what we have in the States for the plate. Our rear gate on the HHR has an area recessed slightly for the plate and it is about 22 in long (56cm), which may work on your plate. Our plates are about 6 1/4 in X 12 inches. (16cm X 30 1/2cm).

oh yes. big and ugly.
it is all the german law. no small license plate, no red turn signal on the back,
it is VERY VERY complicated to change the wheel and tire size.
can´t explain it in english but it is impossible to order some wheels in the US and put them on the car (i love the smoothies...). everything you change
on your car must be controlled by an institution called TUV.
and -if for example wheels - have no german certificate there is nearly no way
to put them on your car. if the police stopps you with illegal wheels it will
be very expensive...

Ohhhhhhh, your in Frankfurt.... I've been there many years ago (Air Force). What the chances of getting a mini keg of Phungstader (sorry, can't remember the spelling, i have a coaster at home with the name on it someplace) sent? I loved that stuff.

Right below your rear bumper at the same level as the exhaust there is a small red light or reflector and to the right is a clear one. What are those? and it looks like either more reflectors on the right and left on the bottom or else more lights! Those wheels look like the 17" high pol alum wheels I have on my HHR 2LT. Very nice pictures.
