Glad to be here!

Hi Folks,
I'm a new HHR owner. I just picked up an '08 HHR Panel 2LT. What a great commuter car! Mine is black with leather int and fully loaded. My service writer at the dealer is a HHR nut, and they installed Eibach lowering springs for me before I picked it up. I'm very happy with it so far.

I did a google search and found this board, and also found the info I was looking for. (Well, at least two out of three)

I HATE the door lock knobs on the top of the door panel. Why did GM even bother to put them there? Anyway, are the "smoothie" knobs available from any source?

My panel is black, and I really don't like the chrome covers on the mirrors, and I also found the thread on how to remove them. (Thanks for that!) I'm ordering black ones tomorrow. I also see the GM offer a "black chrome" grille from the Chevy Accessories Dept, and that might be an interesting grille treartment vs opaque black paint.

One final question: Does installing a rear sway bar help it any? I was able to get a loaner HHR for a few days before I bought the panel. I noticed it swayed a bit on the freeway during a quick lane change. Having mine lowered helps, but it still felt a bit "unsure" when I had to swerve out of the way of a chunk of tire in my lane this morning.

Minor complaints aside, but I *do* love my new panel. It's comfy, quiet, and really fun to drive. I'm very happy with it.

Thanks!

WELCOME from the OC and to the HHR Familia!!

I had a sway bar installed on Saturday and all I can say is WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG to do it!? I LOVE taking the corners now and am toying with either leveling or a CGS (love how it purrs..).

Look up our events for SoCal!!!

I just received and installed the Turbo Tech Racing sway bar on mine ... in powder coated RED! Love it. Definitely a huge difference in the handling. They're here on the site ...
