Found this on the internet. Looks like some exciting products to come!
Here is hoping the HHR is such a successful platform that it gets some of this later technology. I can see it going two ways, one performance the other economy.
They went that way with the Vibe, which is the car I replaced with the HHR.
Myself, I would have to put my money in economy with a nod to traction and handling if such a combo can be achieved. I've never been an either or type guy though. I like my cars quiet, fast, and to ride like they are on rails yet not feel every road wrinkle In other words I want it all and constantly compromise
I'd go for a hybrid AWD that had little body roll and delivered high twenties for the MPG
Time will tell what is going on. Good luck GM

Active Fuel Management sounds scary to me. Remember the solenoids on the Cadillac engines that were supposed to shut off cylinders when they weren't needed? All of the computer controlled stuff that you can't even think about working on sounds great, but...

Way too many things are computer reliant in cars these days. The more computerized they get, the more things that can go wrong, and the more expensive it's going to be to get it fixed. The classic cars had very little, if at all, to do with computers and they are still around. The modern cars don't have near the life expectations and they all run on computers now. Some controlling up to 90% of the vehicle, especially with these hybrids. See a pattern here?
