I know too many people who have bought at $100 over invoice to think that the dealers are only making $100 on the sale.

And the dealer we bought from did okay because we bought other extras including the 6 year interior/exterior warranty.
Don't forget holdback. A lot of larger dealerships will use the gimmick to get people in, sell a car at $100 over invoice, and then add their ridiculous documentation fee, so by the time the deal is done, your about 1/2 way between invoice and MSRP. Then the dealer still gets their holdback, which on Chevy I believe is 3% of MSRP.

And anyone who is paying a dealer markup over MSRP is nuts!!! I don't care what part of the country you live in. Any vehicle that is produces so plentiful that they can provide cars for the big name rental agencies is not worth a dime over MSRP. Ever notice how much a particular model vehicle depreciates is that model is vastly used as a rental???

I hate that ford commerical with that guy singing!!!
Yes, employee pricing is less than invoice. On an HHR it's probably close to $2000~ less than the MSRP of a nicely equipped HHR.

A little bit more. The MSRP on my HHR was $22,220 but with my grandmothers GMAC discount it was about $19,400.

Nice deal. That's almost 13% off of MSRP.

But it's like anything else, the more you spend, the more you save.

So what's the verdict on this? I'm looking to buy a 2006, and I don't want to miss out on the low financing they have right now, but I also don't want to jump the gun by a day. I haven't seen anything yet on it. Other than an article in the detnews.com dated 7/7/06 saying GM will never do employee pricing again...
