America gave up on our own cars long ago. Cheers to all of you like myself that have never bought a foreign car and wouldn't even think about it.

Um..Not only cars but TV's, VCR's, and anything else that requires a volt of electric. What do you think Thomas Edison would say if he was still alive or Henry Ford? "Wow check out that HHR"

unions also need to realize that there is only so much of the pie to go around. after years of greed this is what happens. those in the uaw should have seen the writing on the wall last negotiations, every one else did. I have sympathy for them, but not much since the workers priced themselves out of their jobs.

Couldn't agree with you more, a great deal of the problems today are from what unions have done in the market place. As someone was saying, it's not only automobiles but TV's, Appliances, etc. Manufacturers are taking their plants to Mexico, because of cheaper labor. I don't know that the products are worse, I like my HHR, its just because the unions have driven so hard for all the benefits that uaw gets that people are tired of paying enormous costs for automobiles that seem to be spiraling out of control. It's a revolving door, yes the workers need to be paid a good wage, but at what time does it become too much. I'm really sorry for everyone involved, but someone should have seen this coming.

Did you know that most HHR were put together in Mexico? It is hard to find anything that does not have parts or even the whole made in a foreign country.

But its about where your money is going. Is your dollar staying in America or is it going to a foreign company? I don't mind a little portion of my money going into a foreign company for components as long as the majority is staying within our economy in an American company.

As much as possible, I have tried to by American products and put my money in America. I have either bought Ford, Chevy or Saturns for my Autos over the last 30 years. You can't even buy gas with out it being of some benefit to the Arab nations.

Walmart and most of the rest import or trade with foreign companys. They have taken over the elctronic and communication industry. I am afraid we have no other choice in a lot of things that we buy and do buisness with.
