Has anyone tried putting a General Motors Performance Part #19159206 on an '06 HHR. Was told by parts man that they only fit the 08-09 HHR; that the 06 has a different engine (?). Thanks for any input!

And it could be, techs had a hard time finding a filler neck and cap for mine because there were two types of motor for the 08's. The old and new 2.2

Personal opinion....your parts man SUCKS. Ask him what is different about the engine that will cause it NOT TO FIT.....

I was a consumer test vehicle for the GMPP intake BEFORE it was available to the public. I've had it on my 2006 2lt 2.4 ltr. since Jan.-Feb of 2007. Have not had one problem AND have had it off and on twice, with no problems of installation.

Of course, I am assuming you are speaking of the 2.4 engine (which the intake waas designed for). Can't speak for the 2.2.

Sorry for not listing the engine - it's the 2.2. Perhaps Snoopy is right - the parts man has his head somewhere else

Discontinued?

I heard that the GMPP non-turbo intake is discontinued and unavailable. I also was told that this fixes the crazy access problems with the air filter. However, isn't it also noisier?

As I've mentioned before, Doctuh, it's only noisier at wide open throttle..... besides, some guys might like that.

It's probably discontinued, but a few of the online sources still have it listed, probably going through new old stock and there may be a "backorder" wait time involved.

They are a great unit if you can get your hands on one.
