Is this a good deal?

Is this a good deal?
I have been talking to a Chevy dealer about a 2009 LT2. I was mostly interested in ABS brakes, 2.4 engine, automatic shift. The car they have has that and has 3800 miles with "every conceivable option" and in "perfect condition". Leather seats, sunroof, running boards, etc. etc.
The only thing missing is a block heater - we live in a cold winter area.
Is 19,900 a good value? Should I offer 19,000 cash?
Thanks for any advice.

I assume that they are selling this as a used car? If so, you are not eligible for any of the rebates that may be going on. I would check and see what the rebates are on new 1st, you may be able to do a little better.
Also, the block heater is not available in the US. You can always install an aftermarket heater if necessary.

When I was shopping for my new HHR, I could have purchased a brand new one like you are looking at (2LT, auto, leather, sunroof, etc etc) for 20,999 after 1K GM loyalty bonus(if you own a 99 or newer GM now). With also a 2K GM card topoff I was eligible for, it would have been 18999. These prices were internet prices, before any negotiation. I would say the deal you see kinda stinks.
As you can probably see from my sig, I decided a used SS was a better deal than a new 09 anyway

Good deal
i think it is a good deal. i have 08 2.4 auto 2lt all options. if i had it 2 do again , i would try to get a ss. i was in a rush when i bought mine, i didn't know what a great deal the ss is. they get great mpg and have insane power. when i got mine , i offered 2 different dealers $17,500 cash for vehicles with $18something on the red tag , both said that they would not take a penny less. 1 dealer was high volume , the other was small town. i bought from a private seller. you may find a better deal. my main recomendation is to not get in a rush. 1 of those dealers kept calling me , i made sure that all of them knew that i got a hhr , but not from them.

My advise is if you have cash then shop around. I just bought a 2006 2Lt with 20k miles from a guy who collects and shows 6 dollar figure classic cars. This thing looked like it just came off the showroom. The original sticker was 23k and change. I bought it for 10,500. I guess you can see the value in these doesn't hold very well and I wouldn't get to big of a hurry to get upside down. I love this rig and I just didn't see anything in a new one that this one doesn't have or I could live without. I've seen lots of 07 & 08's for less than 15k. Be patient the deals are out there. Good luck.

GM card topoff?
Pitbull76: Don't know what GM card topoff is, but if I have to ask - guess it means we're not eligible.
We do qualify for the GM loyalty bonus because of our 2001 pickup. Seems like everyone who posts really likes their SS - maybe I should go back to the drawing board
Thanks

GM master card upped the cash back to $2000 for new cars. But all dealers are the same, don't bend over in front of them. Just look at the dealers on line inventory to see what offers they have. Most around here knock off ~$1000 off the list price. I always find that with hard dealing you should be able to get a new car for ~85% of the sticker price. Then apply any other discounts you can come up with.
Unfortunately the HHR drops far too much as soon as you drive it out the door, that even at 85% of sticker or purchase price, the car has lost 30% of its value.

I would say 17.5k to 18.5 would be a good deal
