Unhappy Goodby HHR

Well time has come for my HHR to go to a new home Over the past few months changed a lot of wear parts, not really need yet but staying ahead of the game :) The back plan was know my grandson's old car was starting to have issues,so the HHR was in my thinking to go to him ! Talked to him today and the repairs out weigh the cost of the car..
So even though the HHR is not his first choice when your short on cash and get a great car for super cheap,
( YES I am making him pay me, so he learns nothing ifs free :) No much and he doesn't know it but that $$ will go into a help him fund :) )
But as his cash flow increase's I have first shot and taking it back :)
I also told him he BETTER maintain it or I will be busting his chops :)
So I want to say Thank You for all the help and advice you all have given me over the years ! I am sure I will still have more question if he has any problems

Man he’s a lucky young man! Great lesson, now don’t get angry when he doesn’t wash it or puts regular oil in it!
You might just miss the HHR and find another one!

Radco - it sounds like it will end up in good hands with you watching over his shoulder. Good lesson on nothing is free. :)

Hopefully we will see you from time to time, as well as your grandson (hopefully he will join up here).

Take care -

Tom

Did the same thing with my '09 LS. Sold it to my daughter. Making her make payments. she blew up the motor on the Ford Focus we bought for her. Sorry can't buy you another car , so sold it to her for a good deal. Thats why I have the SS otherwise I would still be driving the LS.

Thanks everyone !
I am anal about my kids paying back when the borrow ! Even if my kids borrowed 5$ they had to pay it back :) Now as adults I can loan my kids 500$ + and I get it back, I do not want my kids of grandkids having to dodge a bill collector!
For a low price car I am really impressed with the reliability of the HHR !
I will cry if he uses regular oil in it :O I try and educate him about maintaining a car ! But I do not think he fully understands it yet ! But Other then flushing the radiator I have the wear items replaced ! Radiator flush in a couple weeks.
He is still wanting something different , He calls it the Ugly Car just like my lady friend does lol
And I will still pop in to ask some dumb question's lol

You better! You’ve been here for a long time , and still having a good time!
Ugly car? Well , she’s allowed her opinion. Sweetie hated the idea and of getting an HHR !
she called it a pet hearse, she thought Oldblue looked like an Eatons delivery truck . But she realized it was just another flash in the pan like a PT Cruiser , and drove much nicer, no rattling and clunking , like her friends PT convertible, or her coworker’s PT , those are both long gone and well , you know she does love Oldblue, and now the BlackSwan, the local funeral home did have a 2009 HHR, 2LT, they used it as a flower car, I wish I had a chance a buying that one .
