GPS (revisited)cachers?
I know we have already talked GPS ,but i want to hit it from a different angle.
Do you geocache with your handheld gps?
for the uninitiated, geocaching is treasure hunting with a gps, you download latitude and longitudinal coordinates to your gps, grab some water and set off on a rural/park/trail hike looking for hidden caches.
After you find the cache you log your visit on a log book then log the visit online.
It's great fun for kids to go treasure hunting and actually find some treasure.
BTW I am ~daseeg~ at geocaching.com

I've never heard of this. Sounds like an interesting and fun way to use GPS.
In science fiction and 24 the TV series, people have tracking devices injected into them and can be followed by GPS. That sounds like fine hunting. I think some cell phones have GPS as well. That makes keeping track of your teenagers and interesting and cautionary dilemma..........

And you cannot be tracked with a handheld gps YOU do the recieving not transmitting .And yes one of my cell phones is gps enabled.
sometimes it's fun just to get a corridor of caches together along a driving route and go on a road trip. finding as many as you can.

if you found a very special or interesting view or perspective,or a hidden gem somewhere, that could count.

I cached for a couple of years but haven't for the last two due to life stuff getting in the way and a loss of interest but I do still own a few caches. It is fun and frequently educational and I met some really nice people who are still friends.

The Deer Slayer III - Travel Bug Geo-caching
I started The Deer Slayer III on some travels back in 07/23/2009. He was on his way from outside Omaha Ne. From there he traveled to and around California then to New York and Virginia and Pennsylvania and Vermont. Today I was notified that he has arrived in Germany and according to the Google earth location is now in a Cache called Schifffahrtsgeschichten near Hegnauhof and Schorndorf, Germany.
So the best I can tell is He may get way more mileage than the Deer Sayer.
This will be a good way for some of our Germany HHR friends to have some fun.If you do find him Please post a pic of him with you.
