Grab Rails

Has anyone added a grab rail on the interior to assist in entry to the HHR. If so where did you find one and how did you install it. I have on in the van I drive and have gotten quite used to it.It would have to be"cashmere" to match the interior.

Thats a good question for those that need that extra grippin' spot. I have yet to hear of anyone here that has added a grabber handle to their HHR.
This would be a helpful for those that are mobility challenged.

There was some discussion on that a while ago. I recall some saying there was certainly an issue if your HHR had the side curtain airbag option. I think that was the reason cited as to why the grab bars were not there in the first place.

My wife misses them as well. Especially when going around the on ramp to the expressway. Told her that lowering it and the sway bar would help. Was that too subtle a hint?

That was a very good suggestion. I think I might use that one on my wife. If you don't mind

With that hint in mind and after seeing Big Red's rolling out of the bay on goldlines, I might just have another box under the tree this Christmas!

Has anyone tried installing something like this in the dash? Is the passenger airbag in the way?

I understand that airbags may interfere if they were installed in the roof over the doors, which is why this was not an option.

Our GM SUV has one over each door as well as on the dash and this is a complaint that my wife has with our HHR.

This one was from Attwood Corp (P/N 2053-5), but there are many others on the market.

You need an absolute solid anchor point to install one for it to be safe......
