1Panel2NV: I ended up changing to acrobat. You should be able to download the link fine now.. I was trying to get my brother to listen to the link.. that's when I realized something was wrong. Acrobat was easier for me... Plus my brother was able to load up the link for acrobat..

it's partly the recording... It has a deep throaty rumble but the rumble sounds like a pop on the recording. The cool thing is if I am cruzing around and say I'm in forth gear and just coast down staying in forth.. There is this really cool rumble type sound from the exhaust..

I must say having the chance to drive it around the city this weekend. I am really impressed.. I pulled up to advance auto parts this morning. Some guy was working on his Camaro installing a K&N intake in the parking lot. LOL.. He heard me pull up and was surprised to find out it was an HHR making that sound. It's the turning of heads that I think I am having a lot of fun with.

This is not a muffler set up for someone that wants a quiet exhaust on the outside.. It isn't too bad inside. It is really noticeable but it isn't to the point like some flowmaster I have heard in the past. My wife and kid don't seem to mind it lol..

That sounded cool, but I think it would get me a ticket around here.

Thought I would give an update.. Driving for a week trying not to get on it I drove 370 miles mostly highway.. about 37 miles one way. 8 miles city to get to the freeway.. Filled up the tank... took 11.1 gallons of gas. computer read 125 miles till empty.. I averaged 33 miles per gallon. Doing between 65mph to 75mph mostly cruise control set.. So I averaged 1mpg better than before with this new exhaust set up.. I'll take it.. As long as I don't go backward... LOL. Still loving the sound. Still getting compliments on the sound..

Thanks for taking the time to record the sound and it does sound great. If you could get the brand name of the glas pack mufflers that were install it may help us from buying the wrong type and getting a different sound. Thanks again for the post it was a helpful one.

I used chery bomb glasspacks on mine.. Now my brother has a saturn Ion and he used two flowtech glasspacks on his.. You can get them from JEGS.com

Flowtech 50251
Red Hots Glass Pack Muffler 2 25" Inlet/Outlet

Item# 387-50251
Only $22.99

Now my brother has the 2.2L and his sounds pretty good as well..
I do get more of a rumble type back fireish sound that he doesn't out of his that he wishes he had. But that might be due to the engine size difference.

I must say for as cheap as it was..You wouldn't think it would sound soo good..

One of the guys I work with heard my sound and did the same thing to his cavalier.. He just can't believe how 2 cheap glasspacks sound better than a $100 plus fart can muffler, and there is no raspy sound that most cars have.
