It had to happen - my first scratch

Pulled into a parking spot today and forgot how low this truck sits. Ran up onto the concrete curb. When I heard that horrible grinding sound, I knew it had happened. My first scratch after only 2 weeks. It's actually several scratches about 4" wide by 6"long and about 1/16" deep. You have to look for it to see it so that's good. But I know it's there and it'll bug me till I fix it.

GAK!

I've had mine for almost a week and haven't dumped a morning coffee into the carpet yet. Knock on wood!

What ya should do as a superstition is put your own scratch somewhere discrete (like in the back door jam). That way you don't get haunted by worrying about scratches after that, then scratches wont happen.

I had thought about doing that! When I told my wife what happened today she said, "Well at least you did it and not someone else."

I did mine 2 weeks in.....

Put a small scratch in the RR door panel loading a computer case.

Faint and hard to notice, but I am now very carefull loading anything
into the car.

Don't tell my wife......

lets see.... One week after i got mine, i went on a camping trip.... After driving around looking for the best site to camp at, I came nose to nose with a park ranger driving down the dirt road. I had thought the road was flat and even. So i decided to back to the right and turn around. Unfortunatly... The grass lied! I went over the lip of the road... teetering my car....AHHHH!!! Then after 20 minutes of guessing the best way to get it out, i finally pulled it out, thanks to the rangers.... (how lucky was I!)

Turns out there was a hidden stump right behind my left bumper as i backed off the road. Once i was on the road i jumped out to see If i did any damage... And of course. A handful of scratches on the left bumper! (thank you stump!)

They aren't too bad, became really faint after i washed my car... I guess i was lookin at mostly dirt not scratches. It still haunts me tho! And you can still notice if your lookin.

The best thing tho..... The ranger was "HOT AS HELL!" I've never felt as stupid as that day. Damn her for bein so hot! lol

Even with scratches, the HHR still looks great. I did the first one myself accidently. Now I don't worry about it at all!

I know exactly what you mean. I owned 3 ZR2's prior to buying my HHR and I did the same thing. It is driving me crazy. I'm going to take an up close and personal look at the damage in a couple of weeks. Like you said, it isn't real noticable but it is bugging me.
