Hard transmission shifts when cold
#21
lead tech from dealer today sat in on a quick test drive to note the hard shifts. He said there sure is an issue. The car will go back into the dealer on Thursday and they will look at it. I have to say that the dealer help is pretty good. Every used car comes with a 3000 mile engine and transmission warranty, 7 day hand the keys back no questions asked guarantee, 30 day exchange for another vehicle option and 12000 mile/12 months bulbs, wipers and brakes guarantee. They call it nice care.
They also said that they would take the car back if it's a got a serious problem.

Well, good news I guess. They have discovered the problem with the tranny apparently. They have found a servo that is shot and they are going to plumb a new one in for me next week and at no cost to me. I have to say, the dealer service is unbeatable even though the front line staff who deal with customers there seem to be as miserable as sin. I guess, who can blame them ?

update...
Dealer has replaced solenoid. When I picked the car up, I drove it to work and it was still shifting hard. It has not done it since then, maybe another 5 driving trips - however, the temps have got much warmer ( still freezing for most ) since then. The dealer has given me another couple of weeks to decide if I want to keep the car. I can still use the $7000 I paid to trade it in for another vehicle. So the mystery continues....
Merry X-mas all !!

So I take it back in to the shop this morning. I pick up the vehicle this afternoon and they tell me the tranny shift module has been replaced. I took it for a test drive and it sure seems like they've done something as it seems much more responsive and smooth. I sure hope they have found the issue this time. Next time it may not be for free !!
Fingers crossed !

Don't need to worry about changing my Tx Fluid......A Nice Rolling Rock, from California's Scenic hillside, on I-80, near Donner Summit took care of that (and, some of the frame too).
Guess either have a new one put in (2006 2LT), or go buy a newer, or new 2LT.
LIVID....is a Very Mild word, for how I felt!
I do not know about this business....but, Tow Driver said that usually, when the Tx case is cracked, and damage has occured- Insurance Co's might usually just "total" the little beast.
This happened at Noon on 01-14-11, so, need to be patient, and wait until they (Adjuster, or?) get to me on Tues.
"I need my 2LT Fix....I'm having HHR withdrawls (insane, huh?!!!).
Absolutely True...."Stuff" happens; but, that's life.
