I know they aren't that pretty but I am really worried about door dings, a ding would really show up on the side of an HHR. I could live with the looks of the moulding.

If anyone can find some that look good, I would sure be interested. The sides of the HHR are particularly vulnerable to door idiots in parking lots. The fenders front and back are pretty vulnerable too.

I do that now when I can, with my truck and Corvette, but it's only a matter of time. I will park the Corvette as far away as I can and someone will park beside you. Should be able to smack them people with a ball bat!

i had some dumb idiot park next to me at school the other night and i almost left a note on his windshield. I could barely get my door open far enough for me to get in. I was a lil on the POd side when i saw how close the car was to mine.

How about putting running boards on your HHR, wouldn't that stop door to door contact?

That might stop some doors, I am ordering running boards before the day is over.

Running boards won't protect the doors, since vifrtually all doors curve out in the centers. The HHR is also very vulnerable on its fenders, both front and back. Seems like a fender trim molding around the wheel wells might help that area.

Body Moldings

Put some on mine. Best thing I could have done. I got them on a roll from my local body shop supply store. They are about 1 inch high in gloss black with PRE MOLDED ENDS. They do come in other colors and most supply houses call them Camaro Molding. Comes in two peices about 7 feet long each. Do not get "formed ends". Formed ends are made by splitting the molding, removing a piece from the middle where the split is, and then heat forming the split pieces together-a very bad look.

Look at my pic as a new member post or gallery-almost not even visable.

Oddly enough, most of the dings that I see in my cars are above the belt line, where the rear doors of SUVs transition from the fender well radius to the vertical upper. This is the corner that hits you car when they park next to you and the kids fling the rear door open (even when you park a mile away; they always find you).

My HHR has a slight one just below the drivers window, far above the beltline. My Caddy CTS had integral beltline moulding. The one ding that I had in that one was above the beltline also.
