Has anyone tried these?

I've read through alot of threads and most of you say that your HHR handles OK in the winter. I bought my 2007 HHR this past February and I had it a week and almost wrecked it going around a slight turn. I ended up doing a complete 180. Now whenever the weather is 32 degrees or less I drive very carefully. My buddy in Yonkers NY told me about these tires www.greendiamondtires. He wants to buy an HHR SS for his wife and he's gonna get these for it. I just wanted to know whether I should get them and what everyone thinks.

By the way, I'm a new member here and I have a 2007 LS, Silverstone Metallic. You guys are really helpful with your posts and opinions and hope to see you guys down the road.

Personally I've never even heard of them.

Except when road conditions say "slow down".

May I humbly suggest a rear sway bar. It has made a big difference on my 2007 HHR. I have a lot better stability now. I can take flat turns at 50MPH (dry pavement) without any problems. I highly recommend a rear sway bar for any and all HHRs!

As far as tires are concerned, I have not put them on my HHR as the HHR is less than a month old and I am still trying the stock tires, BUT I put Michilen Hydras on four other cars over the years and they are fantastic on wet surfaces (and great on dry surfaces) BUT they are not so great in the snow. We get more rain during the year than snow (greater Wasington DC area) so the Hydras were great. http://www.michelinman.com/tires/pas...van/hydroedge/

There is a thread that discusses tires...you just have to use the search feature above. So far the stock 17" Firestones have been fine. No vibration at 120 MPH either. Just kidding. Haven't gone above 80 yet and the tires were fine.

Peace,

I've never heard of those before.

I have had Nokian tires before. I would highly suggest Nokians to anyone. They make some all season tires that are better in the snow than most snow tires.

And their snow tires are unbelievable.

After looking at the greendiamond tire web site they look like a excellent winter tire and are better than the Blizzak tires which are mentioned in this thread

The term "remolded" would scare me right away.

I have used them before on my other car and had no problems with them. They worked great in the snowstorm that I got caught in while in Buffalo a few years ago.

Of course it would, that's just another way of saying "RETREAD". Not on my car. All these are is sand mixed in to the rubber during manufacture. They are then applied to tires like normal retread design.
