Good point! I have never hit a deer but they like to walk around by where I live now so I kind of worry. The deers make me feel like I live in the country even though I'm not that far from the city. I'm just a city boy at heart. My wife laughs at me everytime I say we live in the country. She died laughing when we first moved here and I was amazed by the sounds of frogs and crickets.

Tom, Just think it could have been worse. I have a friend who hit a cow on the freeway. It came over the hood, through the windshield and exploded. His car came to rest off the freeway in a field. They could here the ambulance and other emergency vehicles but no one came to help.after about 20 min. wait he called 911 and the still couldn't find him. He had to direct them to where he was. He had to stay in hospital for 8 weeks, had a broken neck, and pneumonia from inhaling the cow's crap. He didn't fly for over a year. He looks at in a good way now. He got full disability when he retired, so now he can legally hunt in Oklahoma with a cross-bow.

Yep - cows are nasty! We had some guys hit a few racing in the Baja 1000 back in '88. It was a HUGE mess!
(My car almost hit one, but we stopped in time - the cows just stand there!) Crazy.

Glad you're ok, Tom. Like the saying goes. If it wasn't for bad luck, wouldn't have any luck at all, eh? A few years back, I actually ran into a coyote that was running across the dark road I was on. I slammed into it so hard, its head went through my grill and punctured my radiator. That freaked me out. I can only imagine how it was with a freakin' deer. Again, glad you're ok. You should've mounted that deer's head on the wall so you can get the last laugh.

Tom, so glad you are ok! Good luck with the repairs to the HHR, hope it looks as good afterwards. My son lives in Minnesota and they have problems with deer there too. He's been there for two years now and has only hit one, but has had many close encounters. So much for the deer whistles, perhaps it was a deaf deer huh?

Again, glad you are ok,

CBL

Well a towing service should be picking up my HHR tomorrow. I did find some dings in the roof tonight, so now comes the wait for the bodyshop to do it's thing. They know me by name now, they have fixed my last 4 hits.

I looked back on this and have had my HHR for about 9 days outside my last 2 week trip to drive it from the last repair on my back door.

I was thinking I might need to get another HHR for driving while the other is getting fixed and keep the other for a spare when the first one is done.
