Ok, so it's possible some previous owner accidentally switched up the connectors. Then you diligently marked them, and plugged them back in, still switched. Hope it's that simple.

Well the fogs work, so apparently not switched?

Read the Owners Manual for all the info and particulars on how the Traction Control works.
Simple put, it is "ON" every time you crank the car and drive. The button on the dash is so you can turn it "OFF" if needed.

Wasn't sure how this one works but it is working now.
I went out and turned the fogs on...Check !
Then I pressed the traction button, nothing and it really didn't feel like the fog button so I pressed it a little harder and it "clicked" Traction ON lit up on the dash with the wreckless driver icon, pressed it again, Traction OFF lit up and the wreckless driver icon was gone too... apparently the switch was sticking or dirty, Ill have to clean it out next time I pull the dash.

Cant be? when its turned on the icon lights up ( when you push the button ) so if its on when you start up shouldn't the light be on too then?

Test the switch with a VOM.... Could be a bad switch

Ok the verdict is in.... It cooled down a bit, the sun dropped. I popped the waterfall off and what??? Yeah, the plug got pulled back into the tape on the cluster of wires I guess when I was fighting to disconnect the other plugs and I missed it, but I could swear I got them all back on at that time? Anyways, its on and working. From my knowledge and checking, everything on the car works now. Havent had that service ESC or rattling the past couple days now. Got my car legal yesterday after standing in line 2 hours and #8 in line ( thought I was gonna be there early...well not early enough LOL
But anyways, got new plates and completely legal now after this Corona wait..... Hoping things get back to normal so my son and I can take a trip to the crystal mines and do a dig.
