Head Liner Removal ??

Has anyone completely removed the headliner?

And/or the OEM roof rack?

I may need to remove my roof rack for a project and am concerned about it being to complex.

How about the exterior door knobs??

My search function here isn't working.....again, but if I remember correctly, there is a thread describing the removal of the racks. Futhermore (hang on while I get the moths outta my brain) I believe that you need to pull the end caps off the ends of the racks. The mounts are hidden under there. They go into NUTSERTS which are threaded inserts that are placed similarly to a rivet. Use caution with these because of forced the can detach or strip. Some have loosened to the point where you can't install anything snugly. As for the headliner, no idea although I bet you have to pull most of the trim down.

Headliner is a pain but I think in one of the threads about roof racks someone posted about the rails coming off pretty easy.

Thanks..Firewatcher and GDZHHR,

I did the search and found the post describing the install of roof rails.

If I understand it correctly, I can TOTALLY remove the roof rails from the exterior of the car. The front and rear end mounts, have caps, which once removed, give access to screws that go into the square zerts from the outside of the car??

I'll take a look at that. Again, Thanks ...
