The only problem is they don't come on with the remote start.

That sure is a problem GCarp, I wish it was wired up the same way as the rear window defroster which does come on with the remote start. I wonder if any of the electrically confindent folks out there could check to see if somehow the seat heater could be rigged up to the automatic rear window defrost.

I love the seat heaters, I use my all the time on the highest setting. I love having a nice warm butt! I kinda wish that the heating element went up higher on the back so that the shoulders could get some heat but whatever, I'm satisified.

I don't know how many times I have heard my wife comment on how nice it would be if they came on with remote start.

Only GM vehicles with Automatic HVAC can turn the heated seats on with the remote start. Since the HHR's only option is Manual HVAC they can't turn the heated seats on during the remote start.

heated saets should be MANDATORY for leather, and are almost completely useless for cloth. When using leather for a seating surface, it would also be nice to have AC in the seats too, like Mercedes has, but I guess that is why you pay an extra $50,000, for these type of amenities.

Heated seats with cloth are nice as well. A number of my friends have newer VW's (Jetta's, Beetles, Golf's) and they all have heat with cloth and it's still a nice feature to have. I've never really understood why heated seats haven't been available in american cars with cloth but I'm sure they have a good reason. If VW can do it why can't others?

My Little Monster has the heated seats -- what a bonus that was when I found this car on the lot. Never saw a reason to get a car with them until we got our '06 Silverado 2500HD 3LT Crew. It only took one trip in that truck to see the real value of those heaters. Very, very glad I have them in my HHR.
