Welcome from another used buyer. And yes, sometimes mine doesn't want to relinquish the keys also. I think that it wants to keep driving I will have to search for threads on the key stuck issue.

Time to hit the dealer.
There is a little cover under the ignition lock that can be removed and a finger stuck in there to release the key if it totaly fails
