Help me makeup my mind

I have a down payment on an 06 LT with 27000 miles and in great shape for a great price. I love the look and the diversity but was wondering about reliablity. My present car a 1990 camary with 108000 miles is rusting apart but still runs and rides great so I hope the HHR will holdup the same. After driving foregin cars the last few years it is somewhat hard to go domesic again. Your advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

We've had domestic cars, Chevy/Gm with no problems for us. I have a 06 2lt and I love it. I used to have a camry also a long time ago. As long as you do your part with the maintenance you should be okay.

Does it have running boards if not you need to look over the paint on the rear door and fender area for damage. Also if it has no running boards you will want to put them on so add $400-$600 for them.

Just make sure you get the remainder of the factory warranty, 3yrs/36000mi I believe.
If there are any issues, get them cleared up by the dealer before the warranty runs out. There were a few issues with some 2006 cars that seem to have been corrected on the new ones.
Once you do that, these cars should be excellent long-term keepers.

I think you can get 5 years/100,000 miles on a certified GM used car at a GM dealer

I think thats just powertrain though, which IMO is the most reliable part of the car, unless you go for an expensive aftermarket warranty. The small issues people have require the 3yr bumper to bumper.

Here`s one place to try for boards not that easy to find a place that has them painted to match.GM will paint the damaged caused by having no boards one time only for free.
