Exclamation Help please..question on air filter removal..pcv

Hey...how do you remove the pcv tube from the air filter?? It has some weird looking connecter I've never dealt with before...no band with a screw


Any help?


Manual says 50K change but at 35 K I think it is due

Why not just loosen the screw clamp that holds the airbox-to-throttle body rubber air bridge to the turtle, and leave the air bridge and PCV tubing installed?

Otherwise, those are spring clamps on the PCV tube. Pliers can be used to compress it and slide it back on the hose until its away from the nipple on the head.

You talking about the sqeeze clamps? If so:

squeeze them with a pair of pliers and move them back off the seal.

They make a tool for this, but I just use pliers.

Goose....

Are you referring to the dark colored ones that Lone Ranger is mentioning...they are spring loaded.....and are removed as LR states.

The silver colored one appears to be the "radiator" type.

Again, as LR indicates, remove from the rubber intake tube and the connecting inlet tube to the PVC.

Doh figured it out...spring load is right...dee dee dee...under the gun trying to get ready for a trip to San Antone...not thinking straight


Filter is gross at 35K..do not wait until 50k!

Mine was still pretty clean at 49k. I put the new one in anyway just because I'd already taken the damn thing apart! The cabin air filter was VERY dirty, though.
