It performs the same function, just the location and size are different.

Yes it does.. I prefer the dash mounted version.

I know this topic has been discussed numerous times. But I was looking for someone's comment stating some Datsun's...if I remember correctly...will fit an HHR. Can someone confirm which Datsun that was?

Only thing even remotely close on this site, is a discussion about side window vent visors... Someone said they used to have them on their old Datsun pickup.
