Your dealer is too lazy to spend the 1/2 hour per day it takes to read the new bulletins each day. Just take the bulletin number with you and they will see what you are talking about. We have fixed all the HHRs that had the noise complaint, by following the bulletin. The number is 06-01-38-004B. The manifold hose and condenser tube replacement changes the pressure flow through the hoses and the new clip helps the hose not vibrate. Also if your a/c doesn't cool well it may be overcharged with freon. This happens from time to time at the factory.

We don't have any complaint about the noise.

When our AC is working it gets really cool and does it quickly. Our complaint is that our AC turns itself off and switches over to heat, and it too works very quickly and well enough to roast a turkey! Driving to my brothers this weekend for Thanksgiving dinner (a two and a half hour drive) we needed to use the AC, but all we got was heat! We're in Phoenix AZ, it was NOT a cool day, and NOT plesant driving with the windows down all the way there.

The first time it did it we were on our return trip from Montana, going through Utah in the heat of summer. Traveling through Utah with the windows down was NOT fun. Next it did it right after my hubby picked it up from the shop and he went right back and they told him it's doing that to dry up the condensation it builds up. It's done it again since, but quits by the time he runs it in and they act like they can't do anything since it's working well at that time.

Monday, it will go in again, and they'd better really try and figure this problem out. We're not at all happy with it the way it is.

The only Chevy dealer I've dealt with is Thorobred in Chandler. We took our HHR in there a couple of Months ago because of the A/C whining during acceleration. They replaced the 2 tubes/hoses (Whatever) and a clip, as per the service bulletin mentioned earlier. They had the parts in stock and did the job in a couple of hours. Noise is all gone now, and I'm a happy camper!

Maybe that's where we should take our HHR, Thorobred is where we bought it, but we originally thought we'd take it to a dealer nearby for service since we're in North Phoenix and didn't want to drive all the way out to Chandler. With the terrible service we've gotten from Midway, we're beginning to think it's worth the drive to run it out to Chandler. Thanks for the info Alzonie.
