im just giving my experience with autos, its just my opinion, not trying to burn any bridges here. the man asked for advice from SS owners and im just saying that the 5-speeds 1. have more power 2. more fun to drive 3. stock for stock are much faster. you can make any modded car as fast as you want. we are talking about stock...

First and foremost, glad you are OK Dustin.

As for SSes, some love their autos and some love their manuals...all about personal preference of course. The LNF Turbo Upgrade kicks both engines up to 290 HP. (Stock levels are 260 HP for the manual and 235 HP for the auto.)

I'm currently at about 47.6k miles and have had the LNF Turbo Upgrade for about 2.5 years (owned the car for 3), and I have yet to have a problem of any kind. Sadly, some owners have had turbo issues, and other have had problems stemming from poor LNF Turbo Upgrade installs. Two members on here (Sunflowerhippi and Gas Man) got rid of their SSes due to quality issues. A third, JoeSchmoe, has also posted about being done with his SS due to various ailments. Not sure if any other members have had SS issues, but you may want to take a look around. But by and large a lot of members seem to be very happy and satisfied with their SS experiences overall.

Glad you are ok. I love my SS and haven't had any issue at all. Not even the one that people get for just changing the filter. I seem to be able to do anything and mine just runs fine, maybe its user error that causes the problem. Still haven't figured out how the auto is a disapointment, even if your just giving advice. The correct way to give advice is by saying I would prefer a manual, because that is what I like to drive, because if you haven't owned the auto you can't really say its a disappointment. I would just go with whatever you like to drive.

also just some points to add.... being Tboned and the head on collision into the side of a full size truck.... the front end crumbled like ann accordian and air bags never deploed on the front or the side.... with that being said it took a hit pretty well, no injuries, nothing exploded or caught fire..how ever my socks from the laundry basket in the back did make it to the windshield. .over all I would give it a 5 stars for a double hit crash....I will try to post pics later gonna take soem tomorrow
..

Lots of miles, but looks clean and well-cared for in the pics.

Glad you're ok. The SS is a blast, I've had mine 4 years with 35K on the clock. The tires are expensive but other than that, no issues for me. I don't beat on mine but I do DRIVE it and enjoy pushing the limit with acceleration and cornering. The stock Michelin's were done before 30K. The Eagle GT's I have are AWESOME, ($900+) and I don't imagine will last 20K. Just letting you know that this car is a bit high on the up keep. Premium gas, full synthetic oil change, expensive tires. Oh but the grin factor is worth the price of admission.
