Chevyguy
that is awesome that you where able to do that
that is whats great about this sight once in a great while some of us may disagree on something but at the end of the day we are all here to help each other with our addiction to the HHR lol
Dustin for the money in my opinion looks like a pretty good deal. You will know when you get there if it has been taken care of which it appears to have been.
I just went through this myself a couple months back.
I like the idea that you are getting it from a chevy dealer.
If it was me I would see if you could get at least a deal on a one year gm warranty.
Mine had about 50,000 when I bought it and so far it needed a steering column and I had the steering column replaced lock cylinder installed glad I had the warranty for the steering column. If not the bill I saw was over $1,500.00
Mileage does not scare me I have bought other gm vehicles starting at 100,000 and had pretty good luck with repairs but then again I do most everything myself or I would have been in deep debt on a couple repairs.
Good luck
I guess what I am saying is you probably could find a gm certified with a 12 month or 12000 mile bumper to bumper warranty for under $14,000 with 60,000 or less miles but the choice really is up to you .
Hopefully someone will chime in here I thought I read that usually about 100,000 miles is about where the turbos need to be replaced but I am sure that depends on the climate you live in and oil changes and if somebody puts most of the miles on with foot to the floor etc,

Looks like the dealership has it on ebay as well
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2008-...2e6#vi-content
kelly blue book value on that car with the mileage suggested retail is about
$14,150 for the automatic and $13,475 for the Manual so they do really have it priced to move.
They have it priced around the private party value selling price.
I have found dealers selling some of the ss's for close to trade in value you just have to keep looking
It took me 6 months to find mine.
you can always try cars.com
Unfortunatley there are not a ton to choose from near you right now but checking each day can pay off.

yeah I covered it pretty well on my pricing research......I would just like to find one at fair market value and that hasn't had its ass kicked by some ding dong that doesn't know how to drive....or work on cars.....I see it all the time
the stuff that has been serviced on it, is that recalls of typical problems that the HHR SS see's a lot of?
