It may have some kind of light sensor to tell it when it's okay to turn the lights up/down. Battery saving feature????

Hmmmm...... Anyone else?

Like Tony said...probably a battery saving thing or something. Only time I've seen mine come on during the day is if I'm in a somewhat dark parking garage. Must be related to the sensor.

Reach over and cover the light sensor on the center dash (at least I believe thats the light sensor) and they should pop on after a few seconds

But then they will shut right off. Wouldn't they? It's not really a big deal but sometimes it's not dark enough where the headlights should be on but it's dark inside the car.

My lights come on in the parking garage at my work, and they stay on for 30 seconds after i exit the garage. Once regular daylight hits, the lights turn off. The only thing i can notice on the interior lights during the day is that they go from dim (lights on) to bright (normal brightness when the headlights are off).

I've noticed my lights have come on on overcast days.

I think it's probably a programming glitch in the onboard computer.

There's gotta be a way to put them on and keep them on.

Put a piece of electical tape over the eye when you want them on? It would be a PITA but it would work. It has never really bothered me so I haven't put much thought into it.

Yea Chevy forgot a few convenient features when programming that stuff. As far as I'm aware there is no option for a constant on with those lights. Also can't make the damn car start in re-circulating air :swear:

all in all i like the hhr to much to ***** about little things I would have prefered the window switches on the door but no biggie. the only thing i wish was optional was a side opening rear door or a set that splits down the middle letting each pull out to the side as i am 6ft1 and have to duck down to get anything in or out But i still love it!!
