HHR in Disney's Cars Movie
While watching Cars again with my 3 year old(for the millionth time), In scene 4 I noticed that the blue car loaded with speakers and a huge wing looks very much like an HHR. Can anyone confirm this? If it is an HHR, I'm gonna have to hit Wally World to see if they have one for sale.

Batman, I thought that too, but the front end is not square, neither are the lights. I really think its an HHR the whole front is rounded off. As soon as the kid is occupied with something else, I'll try and snap a photo of the TV.

Cars was released in 2006, but the animation began in 2001 and was finished in December 2004. Joe Ranft the principal artist and storyboard designer for the film died in a car accident before the HHR was even announced to the public. If you look at it you see more of a generic small truck look, according to my old college buddy who works at the production company....there is an HHR in the new Cars movie due out in June of this year.

Thanks for the info, As far as "generic" seems to me the production company had their finger on the pulse, as the HHR might have been on a concept drawing or two, at the time of production.(Being in the business myself, I'm sure the production team met with big 3 designers during the production process, to keep current.) Although, it does have that S-10 with a shell look.
Can't wait till June and the toy release! Still looking for a road ripper

Sent an e-mail out to my friend asking if he can tell me whether the HHR will be a character with dialogue and a substantial part. If it is you might see a toy released, but if its just a car in the crowd probably not. I'll let everybody know when I get the info. As far as the truck pictured, it just lacks all the visual cues of the HHR. Its too square, only two doors, the roof line is all wrong, and the biggest thing is no pontoon fenders. If nothing else the biggest visual statement and link the the past is the fender design of the HHR.
