I'm driving a 2010 HHR (Traded my 2007 HHR), and my dealer has about 10 in stock, so it is here. I wrote to the website and asked why they did not have the 2010 on the chevy site. They have since put it up but they said it was just a backlog in their website dept due to headcount reductions by GM, but that the HHR is in plan through early 2012. In fact check the numbers for truck sales (it is a truck as we all know) and it currently is approaching sales quantities equal to the Honda CRV.

HHR possibly continuing ?

Just read this from another forum:

"I was joking with the sales guys today at the local GM dealer and they told me that now there is a "question" about stopping HHR production, as previously reported.
Evidently, since the guys that made that decision have since lost their jobs, now there is a chance the HHR will continue".

Any input is appreciated (as always)....

well since they are using up parts for the hhr, it probably is done for.

remember they crank out almost 100,000 a year. no parts being made, no more hhr

First thing to do is never believe a word most Salesman as they are the first line of cluelessness.

The HHR will finish out this year and as of now next year. The Orlando is not in production yet so there is nothing to replace it. GM is also not going to idle the plant yet untill they have something to replace it. It is very expensive to shut or idle a plant.

From my contacts at GM there is no plan and has been no plan to remove the HHR early. I suspect we will also get a full year in 2012 too unless they change their minds.

Note the most salesman will know the end of the HHR most likely after you will.

They will not run out of part and they are not using them all up right now. Most items for the HHR production are made by vendors and delivered with in hours of production.

Only a few things are built out like the transmissions and engines since they are imported to Mexico.

The whole idea is to make sure they never have tons of parts sitting around at the plant with no place to keep them all.

As for replacment parts they will remian in production at least 10 years or more into the future. It is unlikley you will ever run out of replacment parts for you HHR for a good time to come.

In fact even for my 25 year old Fiero I can still get most mechanical parts from the dealer or outside vendor. The only parts that are hard to get anymore are some interior bits and small trim items. Even some of the most needed ones are now being reproduced and some even sold by GM.

Look for HHR sales to be down to 50K a year from here on out. IT is a old vehicle and the market is slow right now. Also Enterprise accounted for around 20% of all sales so what they buy also will have an effect on fleet sales.

I had no idea what the HHR design was based on (1948 was well before my time), so I'm not sure why the HHR can't be a world car.

I think the Mayan were just talking about the end of the HHR 2012 not the world.

The HHR is the offical car of the national Mayan human sacrifice team in Mexico. You should see that special edition.

Know youy know what the little tube drain in the spare well is for.

Basically 1947-1953 Chevy Sub or Panel, all look pretty similiar..Unless you know just what to look for.

Here's a 1948 Panel.
