HHR to end 2012?

The HHR would have been a poor convertible like the PT.
Hint. Not everything coming is going to be boring or over $50K.
With two new RWD platforms and Turbo 4 and V6 engines added to a new V8 coming we will have something for everyone.
Then new fwd cars are not bad either. Drive a new Regal and see what the new cars will be better than. THe next Epsilon cars will improve on the Regal.

Around labor day of this year, GM was offering $4000 off 2010 HHR's.
That caught my eye. I was in the process of trying to make a deal on a 2011 Mustang and Ford has really cut back on the X-plan. The dealer wouldn't budge on the price either. I can't blame them, they are selling all they get.
It's the wife's car anyway, she likes unique and doesn't care much about power, so I went to the Chevy dealer on 9/10/10. They had 5 left. There was a Victory Red HHR LT1 with $2300 in options. I would have liked the 2.4 liter engine but the 2.2 is OK.
They took the car out of the showroom, I drove it, I told the salesman I could live with it but wasn't real excited. He offered to get me another $1000 off and I told him he had a deal.
When I go out in the garage, I tell myself it's a cool looking car, the wife loves it and overall, I am happy I bought it. Had it not been for the huge discount, I would not have even looked twice. Sticker is way too high for what you are getting. Even when they first came out, I thought this.
Whether this kind of deal comes by again, I couldn't say. Keep a close eye on the ads and stay in touch with a salesman you trust. Give him an idea what the car is worth to you. It also helps being willing to take a car they have on the lot.

If the SS had not driven so good I would have never bought this car and really missed out on one fun vehicle.
