HHR in a few days
#21
The fun never ends. Yesterday when the HHR showed up it had bird droppings on it that were dry. If you all know, bird droppings can cause very bad paint issues. And I am not kidding, one of the splatters was the size of a softball - huge. Must have come from a vulture or something. So I left it with them overnight and they are going to super-detail it. I just hope the droppings didn't eat any clear coat off.
As far as an extended warranty goes, yea, that's fine to have. Just don't want to pay for one until after 3yrs/36,000 miles.

My dad's worked as a Warranty Administrator at car dealerships for over 40 years (luckily, he doesn't have to deal w/finance guys or car salesman - the sharks!) - he says THE most important thing a person can do is perform preventive maintenance - everything from what the manufacturer suggests to what you think your car needs. I know this would seem like common sense to all of us, but you'd be surprised how many people just don't do it - he's seen tons of people who drive 7,000-10,000 miles w/out ever changing the oil, much less any of the other suggested stuff. Anyway, standard warranties like the HHR has should cover any flukes/anamolies that happen the first few years.

I grew up in the family business (excavation) where maintenance was a daily thing and it IS the life of a engine... I take care of my baby regularly, oil changes seem to be coming around every two to three weeks with the miles I drive....

And on weekends, we gather near the front grill and genuflect to the bowtie!
Seriously, I work 1.7 miles from home and the kids go to school in between that. For you commuters out there--this is the life! I save hours and hours each week and bundles in gas/wear n tear on my baby. I can usually go weeks between fill-ups...still haven't paid $3 for a gallon yet, but I am nearing E, so my days of saying that are limited.

Krejaton,
Got ya beat by a bit I think. I work at home :) However, just wanted to say I picked up an HHR this past weekend. Been looking at them for a while, just couldn't get myself to commit. I'm a sucker for the old stylings though. My folks say I grew up in the wrong time period, at only 32, I've got an real addiction to history, right down to my 1950 Harley.
So, I'm new here, and have been reading a bit and it seems ya'll have a pretty good thing going on here and look forward to see what comes next for these neat vehicles. Guess I should let you guys know what I got huh? Picked up a Sport Red Metallic 2LT autotrans with cashmere leather, moonroof, running boards and the polished alloys.
