HHR Key less remote with starter

I have to buy a new remote with starter. Does anyone knows how to programing it? My HHR is 2006 LT

You can't do it yourself. It has to be done with a Tech 2 scanner so you'll have to take it to a dealer or a locksmith that has one.

just had two done today my dealer even gave me a new one when we discovered a broken contact in one all was free, this dealer is winning me over !!

they have to do it for you it takes a spendy looking scan tool

I have as many if not more tools than the average car guy. There is only one reason I don't have a Tech 2....the $3500+ price tag. That doesn't cover the software either.

My local Chevy dealer did mine (also 2006) for free too. FYI, I tried all the "program your remote" tutorials out there, they don't work. It took all of 3 mins for the dealer to program it.

Check with your local locksmith as well, Advanced Diagnostic's T-code PRO and Ilco's SBB multi vehicle platform programmers can program most GM vehicle remotes (including CAN).

If one dealer is going to charge you for it, call around. Took about 4 dealers for me to find one that was willing to do it for free.

My brother in law owns a business coaching/training strategy company. One of his clients is the owner of one of the local Chevy dealers plus I have a nephew who is a tech at a Buick/GMC dealership. I don't ever have to pay for stuff like that......
