I'm sure you know where they all connected up and haven't made tires out of them yet...
Yeah I haven't sent them to the chipper yet. Left everything as together as I could and took pictures before disconnecting. Her dad is pretty good with these engines, he's rebuilding the carb for me today. I guess I need to look a little deeper into which vacuum port needs what so I know the essentials are connected. Thanks for the advice.

Back in the day when that carb was just beginning to be made we tried everything to "de-smog" those things including internal mods and very little helped... I had a scrap pile of smog era Qjets at one point.

With a 305 cid a spread-bore Holly is not going to work either as they are way too big for that application (big meaning cfm). I never liked using adapter plates but a small holly with an adapter might be your only other option if you can't get the Qjet running properly.

That's because they are.

First gear of a 4 speed auto trans should be alright with the 3.50 rear gear, just don't go to big with a rear tire, as it will change the over all gear ratio. What trans are you going to use?

I disagree. All you are doing is plugging off the vacuum sources for emission device's. Make sure your distributor has a ported source, not manifold vacuum.
Being it's a Q-Jet you will be using the primaries a lot. It can be jetted if need be.
Had many a GM using this carb.

I downloaded a vacuum diagram earlier, hopefully it will help. Thanks for the advice.

Pretty good day today. Got the engine wire wheeled and painted. Turned out great. Carburetor is rebuilt and ready to go. Working on the brackets now, will paint them tomorrow after the swap meet. Hopefully I find some good deals
