HHR Nomad?

Hi HHR People!

I was raised on Fords. Now before yoiu all "boo" me, let me tell you that I have an open mind. My mind is open to "kinky" things like...liking HHRs! (it's SO taboo that it's exciting :) )

I live in the Des Moines, Iowa area. A couple of weeks ago on my way to lunch I saw an HHR Nomad. Now I had NO idea there was such an animal. Already kind of liking HHRs, I did some internet research. I can't find "such an animal" on the internet.

This was a fairly "plain" looking white HHR. Except: It had 2 doors & 1 long "quarter?" window. I mean there was just one long window from the door to the rear!! And there was a little "Nomad" badge on the back!

What did I see??? Is there someone out there doing conversions? Who'd pay for such a conversion? And why would they be in Iowa??

I was thinking that if it had the vertical chrome strips on the hatch it would be more Nomad reminiscent. But it didn't have any...unlike the HHR Nomad show cars I've found.

I'm confused (nothing new for ME). Who knows what?

Sounds like a custom HHR 2LT with the "AA5" option for solid rear quarter panel.

As for the Nomad badging it sounds like someone was trying to get more old school feel out of their HHR.

The one pictured above does have the verticle chrome strips and does not have Nomad badge.
Here's a rear shot of it..........

Nope. That's not what I saw. It was much "plainer". The long window didn't have that kind of angle at the front.

That's why you should always carry a camera in your car
