Wow - Lucky you (I guess). Notice it's a Premere Cappauccino Frost Edition, like mine. Are you giving any thought to repairing?

no it had a lot more damage than what you could see the engine would not turn over right after the wreck and it seemed the tranny was stuck in gear ignition would not turn off either and they didnt even open the hood but i could see inside the front end was pushed up to the engine . but ill bet a rebuilder will buy it and rebuild it it only had 33000 miles on it and the seats were like new .....oh well iam just glad to be here.......

Glad you're OK, it looks like a hard hit. It might end up being rebuilt by somebody, but with that damage it would never be right again.

Looks like it crushed exactly as it should.
Imagine what would have happened if the vehicle was not built to 'crush'...
Your body would have slammed into the airbag at probably double the speed, and then you would have hit the steering wheel and windshield. People that complain about all the safety stuff have no concept of all the engineering that goes into keeping you safe.

Conversly, there's the guy claiming an injury after I backed up 2 feet into his BMW.......

I will tell you from just the crashes I have seen here I feel very good in my HHR.

GM built a very solid little car here and it is a shame more don't know how good it is and it is great more don't find out the hard way.

I am sorry you lost the car but it gave itself to protect you. Anything you can walk away from is a good one.

So my question is, are you going to get another HHR?

Glad to hear that you are ok and the car did it's job as designed. Do you still have the car?

side air bags

I believe that one person on here died in his HHR a year or so ago.

With regard to the side airbags, I presume the poster above has a car that came stock with them. I don't think there is a way to add them later, is there? There was a recall that added egg-container like filler to the headliner for earlier cars without the side airbags, but as far as I know, that's all you can do.

I lost my wife two years ago next week in a head on collision. She was in a new Honda Pilot and was hit head on when a college student on oxycodine crossed a center turn lane into oncoming traffic. Even though the Pilot had high crash safety ratings, it didn't hold up at all compared to your HHR. Very glad you came out OK!
