While driving around today I had the sunroof open and while going 60 MPH I decided to push down the mesh net visor for the sunroof and I heard alot of wind noise. If the mesh net is not in proper postion or does not exist there would always be alot of wind noise. Opening and closing the sun roof above 60 mph works fine by the way.

The mesh net is there for the purpose of deflecting wind & wind noises. If it was not there, the noises get un-bareable. My wife's VW Bug has similar setup, when pushed down & sunroof open, there is alot more noise & sometimes a rumbling noise inside car. Also having some other windows open, can affect how wind circulates and makes noises inside vehicle. The design of HHR, boxy/bumble-like(VW Bug), makes a funky setup for sun-roofs and wind noises. Experimate with different situations & speeds, my HHR has sunroof, so far minimal use, and no abnormal noises.

My sunroof makes a clicking noise if I put it up as a vent. I don't get the noise if I put it back.

That's just the way the HHR cuts through the wind. Try driving at highway speeds with a puppy in the back seat wanting to put its head out the window. Talk about eardrums popping!!!!

My dog really loves to hang out the window at any speed( as does all dogs).
But can't let him do that in my HHR, my wife's Infinti QX4 is another story.
Ever see what a terrier mix looks like with its head out the window at 90 mph.

Clunking Sound in Front

Does anyone have a solution for why there is a clunking sound in the front suspension(?) on a 2008 HHR? Is it bad bushings in the stabilizers or strut problems. It is a disconcerting sound.

Welcome to the forum. There are many posts about front end noise. Do a search in the brakes/suspension section of the forum and you will find out more than you ever wanted to know about the front end clunk on our little wagons.
Good luck!

Front Passenger Floorboard flooding

I have a 2006 I bought new and in the last three months, every time it rains hard the passenger side floorboard can get up to an inch of rain. Only on that side and I cannot see any evidence of water coming in. Don't know where it's coming from or how it's getting to the floor. It does have a sunroof from the factory. Any help? Thanks Mike

Since it's a 2006, do a search for "butyl patch". There is tons of info on this site about it. The early HHR's had a design flaw in the cowl area where this patch is located.
To keep us from having to write pages of explainations, just do the search, read up on it and get back with any questions.

This thread closed - please people, don't tag an unrelated question/issue onto an old, or unrelated thread. Doing so will often result in no responses - if you have a question/issue, either tag it onto an existing thread that is currently active, or create a new THREAD in the related section.

And as mentioned above, a lot of the issues have been discussed previously, so using the SEARCH tool at the top of the page will often result in finding the answers to your problems quicker than posting a new thread.
