I couldn't be convinced to get an electric, or even a Hybrid. My son has aJeep Trailhawk (2020) and it has very little room inside. He added a speaker box in the back, and it can carry maybe 4 people, but not much legroom for my liking. I do like the wife's Trailblazer (2008) but they started getting smaller after around that year. I'll stick to the older stuff I guess.

After 131000 mile my 06 HHR was traded for a Hyundai Tucson in 2013. That Tucson was hit and was traded for a 2017 Tucson which now has 57000 miles on it. It has been quite reliable. GM made a bone head decision to discontinue the HHR.

I’m kind of partial to the Look and Ride of the 2016-2017 GMC Terrain. They get even better MPG than the HHR, plus more torque, precision ride and handling, and a souped up suspension that puts it just a scant few inches higher up off the ground than the HHR is. My sister has one, and it’s really enjoyable on long trips, and it’s been their most reliable car they’ve ever owned (and they own 2 other Toyotas). Plus, for a small Sporty SUV, it’s just a beautiful curved machine like the HHR is.

What I like about the Terrain 2013-17 is you could get it with 3 6L LFX. 300hp, naturally aspirated. Chevy sister ship, Equinox, too.

I’ve always loved the Equinox. Whenever I’ve needed to rent a vehicle, I always try to find the rental agency that has an Equinox, and they are a dream to drive. Way better than the $95k 4-Runner!

I have a Chevy Trax in addition to the HHR, probably the closest modern alternative.

My neighbor down the street has a 2020 Trax. I was curious how the shoulder room and cargo space is. Seems much smaller than HHR?

I have the ‘17 Terrain with the 3.6. I can frequently hit 21-24 mpg combined mileage when I stay out of passing gear. Kick her down and she is vocal and flies

My wife has a 2020 Trax. Passenger room is about the same as the HHR, but nowhere near as much cargo room. I plan to kepp my HHR Panel going as long as possible, as there really isn' a replacement.
