Does GM really include the figures for the HHR in with the trucks...or is this guy jerking my chain? Does anyone have any other information other than what I was able to find? This whole deal has my curiousity up and I'd appreciate any feedback you might be able to provide.
If I remember right, when I bought my HHR in July 06, the salesman told me that it was classified as a "light truck" because the back folded completely flat. I have to laugh tho - on chevys web site it is under SUVs and on the website of the dealership I bought from in Sacramento, it is listed under VANS. Will someone make up their mind???

The HHR is a CRUCK !!!

The HHR is a CRUCK (patent pending ), I told you guys that long ago. I have the Original Prototype, they started with the 2006 Fall Edition and made it available in other shades of Black (pigment added).

When I purchased mine I was told that GM classifies them as trucks, but that the state on Maryland titles them as cars. Wow, imagine that, government and industry do not agree on something.

Deb, the newspaper guy was giving you the straight scoop from HIS perspective. If you go to the GM media site (www.media.gm.com) you will see the HHR listed under Chevy trucks. At the chevy.com consumer site it is listed under cars. btw, my HHR disguised as a Cobalt went 121 miles from Denver to Sterling yesterday on THREE gallons of gas! The computer called it 43mpg going and 38 coming back. I drove under 65 going and close to 75 returning which was probably most of the difference.

The Manitoba insurance program classifies it as a 4-door hatchback.
