HHR SS with automatic?
#32
THE HHR SS WILL HAVE AN AVAILABLE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION!!! My local dealer just let me thumb through one of the owners manuals of a 2008 HHR that just came in today. I found a reference that confirms the automatic transmission on the SS. From page 2-47 under "Cupholder(s)", it states: "If your vehicle is an SS model, the automatic transmission vehicles have a cupholder in front of the shifter." I made a copy of the page, but don't have the ability to post it since I don't have a website to host the picture.

They need to merge all these threads together.

That's good news! I would not want a stick for a number of reasons. I've done the stick thing for years.
I like the automatics these days. Main reason I sold the Vibe was it was a stick and it did not have any sort of positraction so it just spinned the right front wheel a lot in wet weather.
As another poster stated, sticks get old quickly in city driving.
The only stick I currently drive is our '64 Monza convertible and I would rather that was an automatic.
My SHO Taurus was only available in a stick when it first appeared in 1989. An automatic was not available for many years. I loved my five speed on that car, but that was then. Now I'm an older fuddy duddy
