HHR sun visor question?
We have a 2006 White with tan leather interior HHR LT and i need to replace the driver side sun visor and the dealer told me that the color of the visor is gray but looks to be of a light tan color. Which is it? For you guys with tan interior what color are your sun visors. Thanks

Tan (cashmere is the official GM color name). I have a 2006 2LT.
Funny thing. Was just about to search the forum for a post on the driver's side sun visor. Mine is not working as it used to. Flipping it to the windshield, the visor no longer stays flipped all the way towards the windshield. Wants to come back about 1/3 to 1/2 of the way towards the roof.

Interesting thread! My 2007 HHR LS driver side visor seems to have developed the "droop" tendency, even though I rarely use it. It also does not stow away fully - all the way to the end of it's possible travel.
This seems to indicate that the visor itself has broken (mostly) free of whatever it is that binds it to the axis rod. There are stays or anchors or adhesive that is just not co-operating.
There must be a fix that is cheaper than an OEM replacement, which will end up doing the same thing eventually.

Don't get me wrong, it was a great suggestion based on the criteria "cheap" and easy! And since the obvious next "phase" of the sun visor going all "bankrupt" is probably that it won't stay out of the way when not in use, it was very relevant. And will probably be implemented in the near future!
I guess I'm just in sheer disbelief that the stupid sun visor fails. Our 1982 Corvette doesn't have this problem and it has the original sun visors. Come to think of it, no car I have ever owned prior to the HHR has had an issue like this with a sun visor.

I removed the sun visor and pried it out of the mounting plate and reinstalled the plate alone. The sun visor robs an inch+ of vision from the top of the windshield which is very limited on this car, unless your pretty short. If I ever have a direct sun in the eyes situation I can push the visor back into the mounting plate while I'm driving. Best mod I've done so far.
