HHR for tall drivers?

I'm 6'5" and was looking for feedback from other tall drivers regarding how they fit in their HHR. Any options to avoid; seats, sunroof etc.? I know about the limited view of stop lights. Thanks a lot!

I'm 6' 2" and as long as I move the drivers seat as low to the floor as possible, and as far back as I can, I can fit quite comfortably in it.

I'd show you how comfortable i can fit in it, but I'm afraid your eyes might burn out!

I'm 6' 1"

I have plenty of room also with the seat all the way back and all the way down. Have no problems with the traffic lights as long as I stay back at the white line at the light like your suppost too.

6'2" with sunroof and pretty comfy. I would think to avoid the sunroof if you are 6'5 though. Although, it depends, is it just long legs or tall all over? Weird question i know but some people just have really long legs and a shorter torso.

I'm 6'3" and have no problems at all. I would sugest getting the sunroof though. With the shade open it gives you MORE headroom than without sunroof. Also, I tend to recline my seat just 1 notch. With that slight recline, I have no issues with the shade open or closed, but another 2" might mean the shade stays open.
Light-in-sight solves any issues with traffic lights.

Good luck in your search.

I'm 6'4" with short legs (32" inseam) and long in the torso. With the seat back up where I would drive it and the whole seat in the right position front to back, my head would slightly hit the headliner where it went around the sun roof. I knew I would have to recline the seat back slightly to clear it (and found I did this in every test drive on sunroof cars). This was sitting up straight. If I slouched a bit just my hair would brush the headliner.

Without the sunroof there is easily 3" of clearance with the seat back up where I would drive it. It's a cavern. Of course then you have to sometimes lean forward to see street lights (it's rare and doesn't bother me in the least).

I've noticed at my height I need the seat back up more than most people or my neck and shoulders start to hurt after a couple of hours (which is not an unusual drive in these parts). These aren't my GTO seats .... but they aren't that bad for a tall person.

I did decide I could live with or without the sunroof. On the cars that I already own that have with it, I only open it to let out hot air. On the cars without it, I never missed it. I certainly wasn't smashed into the headliner but it was right on my head when I sat up straight.

If you will really use it, then it's great to have but I suspect you will have to recline the back and your shoulders won't have much if any support.

In the end, the car I bought didn't have it, but I know I can add a pop-up for $500 if I decide I really need to have it and the headliner won't drop down like it does on the electric factory roof.

As for leg room, even if I had longer legs, there is plenty of room. I wish the steering wheel telescoped forward but for the most part it's position is fine.

6'4" Here and went with out the sunroof for the rubbing reason where I like to have my seat, I fit fine also I find the seats don't cut off on my legs making long trips really comfortable, even the wife's Impala I have to stop about evey hour to stretch my legs..

Thanks all for the replies.

I think I'm long, both legs and torso. I wear a 36 pant leg, don't know what my torso is. My shoulders are sort of wide too but I'm not over weight for my height. I started this car shopping experience looking at PT Cruisers and now have realized the HHR is a far better product. I haven't sat in one yet tho. I did read the sun roof robs 2" of head room but I really have no interest in one anyways. Seems like I'll fit per the responses so I'll keep perusing the for sale adds.

I'm 5'10", like long walks on the beach and sitting by the fire

My best friend is 6'4" 280lb and he drove it just fine. Prolly had about 3-4" over his head and no sunroof. He even got in BEHIND me and was comfortable. You shouldn't have any issues at all. He's been in every seat in the car and said that he hasn't had any comfort issues. Got another couple of buddies (twins) that go 6'4" and 320+ each that didn't have any trouble either.

One other question~

With the drivers seat all the way back and maybe reclined slightly, will the larger section of the rear seat, on the right side of the car, fold flat without hitting the drivers seat? I carry sports equipement around all the time and would like to have the seats on the right side of the vehicle folded down flat. The reason I ask this is I've seen cars where the "60" side of the 60/40 rear bench seat will not fold flat with the drivers seat all the way back and reclinded a notch or two.
