Yea,, I've been following it on the news and it is pretty nasty. One of the members here (skyline26) posted a pic of his covered in ice - did not look like a lot of fun at all.

Stay warm - makes our 5"of snow look like a piece of cake.

At least we now know how many plows it takes to clear the 401.

How the folks in Toronto have restrained themselves from stringing up their demented excuse for a Mayor just baffles me.

But folks like Jay Leno, Dave Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel, and Craig Ferguson are very thankful for the material his public self destruction has provided.

All kidding aside, I really feel for everyone affected by the ice storms on both sides of the border. As a born and bred Southerner, my ice storm experience adds up to zilch.

I remember 5th grade in Beaufort, SC they closed school when this white stuff fell out of the sky just because they got skeered. It made the tips of the Bermuda grass white for an hour. We had to drop & roll then get our light jackets on and walk home. That was very close to "the missiles of October" when every F4 was in the air. Yes, I was there when "The Great Santini" was there, my brother went to high school with the author.

You reminded me of a time when I was in service. I was living in Portsmouth but stationed on a Coast Guard SAR vessel tied up at Little Creek Amphib. It snowed maby a inch, I was driving a 63 Renault Dauphine Gordini no problems but you should have seen the number of cars in the ditches on I-64. I was almost the only vehicle moving. AT least here I don't the conditions my daughter had yesterday in Madison, Wi. It was -14 with wind. Too cold for me.
