HHR vs Ion QC Need help ASAP!!!!!!!!!
What do you guys think:
It would be beneficial to get another vehicle and give my 1998 ZX2 to someone that would greatly benefit from the independence. So I went shopping today with the Red Tag sale "officially" starting Monday. The cheapest I could get a 2007 HHR 2LT with supplier discount and Red Tag $500 was $21500 since no 2006 models could be found. So then I went to Saturn to look at the Ion 3 Quad Coupes that I said I would get if I couldn't get a 2006 HHR. Saturn also has a deal that if you don't finance through GMAC, you get an additional $500. A fully loaded 2007 Ion 3 Quad Coupe with the options I wanted came out to $20,200 and with my supplier discount and the additional $1000 off, it comes to $18,300. I was planning on getting the Ion before the HHR's even came out, and it gets slightly better gas mileage, which is good because I usually drive 400-500 miles a week. I need the payments to be under $400/month, and with my credit and through my credit union, the Ion meets that, HHR doesn't. I wanted the HHR for the cargo room. Being a 21 yr old, I will be moving a couple times in the next 4-5 years. Should I go for the Ion, or wait. There isn't even any 2006 HHR 2LT coming through Manheim Auctions. I'm asking here cause I value your guys and womens opinions. The other advantage to the Ion is that its been out since 2003, with the engine upgrade on the 2006 models, so it has no first year production issues. Help...

if you're looking for an 06 HHR, why not look just outside your area instead of right in Flint. There are LOTS of 06's around, there's quite a few still in the lot near me. 'course I live in socal so that wont help.
most of us on here will tell ya to get the HHR, so we're kind of biased aren't we?
here's one I found just using the Chevy site, I bet you could find more just looking... its in St. Claire, $16.8K. cheaper than the Ion ur looking at.

i did a little more digging and there are a ton of 06's in the Flint area. Just go to www.chevy.com/hhr and click the "FIND A VEHICLE" button and look under City and State.
you'll find 'em. Most of them are the more expensive LT's.
but since they're 06's you should be able to get them around dealer's invoice price.

Ion vs HHr are you madddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd
The HHr will win every time. I drive a total of 3500 miles a month and change my oil every 2 months @ 7000 miles. I have purchased my Daytona Blue 2LT Fully Loaded on 18 Feb 06 and as of today I have 27.239 miles as of right now. The only problem that I have had was the Thernostat was bad and had to be replaced and this was done today at the Dealership. I pass a lot of Ion's on the hight way and they are all looking at the HHr. I my self think you are better off going with the HHr. You must do what you think is right no matter what enyone else thinks. You have to pay for the vehicle and you have to drive it. Good luck in what ever you purchase. Check them both out real but I think you will end up with the HHr
Good luck Chad

Most of those LT's are 1LT. The problem is distance and time being that I have none. I work full time and I'm a fulltime student. I am looking for a 2LT in Blue or Orange. I certainly have been pleased with the Saturn experience over the Chevy so far. The Ion will get me the better mileage, and cost similar to a used HHR, but less cargo room.

I understand the bargains on the LS. But it's not the LS I am after, I can get those all over the place. And a 2007 would have alot of the first year issues taken care of. I am looking for something long term, and I don't want to have to spend alot of time at the dealership. So far the Saturn Experience has been great, and the car has been out since 2003. I haven't read many problems with the 2006-2007 models.
