HHR's and PT Crusiers

Your biggest problem is many in the media and auto indutry bash Bob Lutz for pushing the HHR to market. Most said it was too little too late and old new.
They also tried to paint it as just a Chevy PT Cruiser.
Even Chevy second guessed and set production lower than they had said but changes it as sales exceeded thier own preditions.
As time passed the Market and Media has found that the HHR was not too little or too late. If anything the timing was just right for the higher gas.
They also found the HHR was attracting a different crowd of owners who owned large SUV's and truck's owners and not just old people pretending it is a 1940 Ford.
Well this left the aftermarket usnsure of putting money into the vehicle as many thought it's time was going to be short and GM may have had another Aztek on their hands.
I suspect with the advent of the SS to the line and with sales still going well we will see more things for the HHR.
The biggest thing that will help is the popularity of the SS as few know about it now but as they learn it will bring in a whole new type of HHR owner and better round out the ownership profile. Having a wider and more diverse ownership base will only bring more attention to the HHR.
Also with the Cobalt SS getting more great press I feel we will see more attention on the HHR SS as it really not much different in terms of well sorted out performance.
The biggest problem right now it the economy and the MFG will only be doing sure things for right now. Not all MFG including some large names are all that stable. We could lose a big name or two not to mention some smaller ones in the next year.

Oh yeah, don't forget there is a good chance HHR production will end when the platform ends in two years. GM may not be able to afford to change it over without a major redesign.
