hid install
#5
I will do that then, not sure on the brand since I am not seeing one on the box. I have it set up to be installed tomorrow but if I can save the money and do it today even better. Or the other option would be if anyone has any type of diagram for a basic reference that would probably get me where I need to be.

Plug and Play?
I suggest that you do not get this done. There is no such thing as "plug and play" HID installation in the usual sense meant with changing a computer part. You have to add a ballast transformer to the circuit to run legitimate HID. I suspect that if you do manage to install your kit, you will discover that it won't work as you expect. With these kits you drop an HID bulb into a mirror assembly designed for halogen. This causes excessive glare for oncoming drivers. The right way to go, though not DOT approved (so still technically illegal), is to graft an entire HID projector into stock headlight assemblies. This creates the sharp "cutoff" at the top of the light pattern of the HID low beam. I know of no such proper HID conversion for HHR currently available for retail sale at any price. Other threads on this forum do document successful "one off" work done by technically handy owners. It's not easy to modify the stock head light assemblies! I prepaid someone who made conversions for Cobalt to do it for my HHR. He gave up in frustration after accidentally destroying a headlight assembly and refunded me. I strongly dislike the light pattern of my halogen low beams. Right now there is nothing I can do about it except turn on my fog lights which helps somewhat.
