have to be careful with that--depending on your county/state --they may not allow it ... here in SC they do -- as I am Volunteer Firefighter and have the right and the authority to do so in my personal POV -- as well as a siren too.. check with your local law enforcement before installing it...

My fiance has a set of strobes that replaced her back-up lights.
When she goes into reverse, it catches everyone's eye and you can miss her HHR backing up.
The only time they come on is when the car is in reverse. Kind of a secret mod that nobody knows about until she backs up - then instant light show.
She's had no problems with local authories of the law.

I have strobes in the tail lamp of my 08. there is not alot of room but I was able to install them in both the tail and back up lamps. I drilled the lamp for the bulb[at the big wide end] then trimed the mounting tabs off the strobe bulb. Then i cut a c shape out of the tail lamp retainer that when assmbled the tail lamp retainer holds the strobe bulb in the tail lamp. works well. you don't have to seal the strobe bulb because it's inside the car and the tail lamp is vented.
